Geek Blog - 3UK New Year Meet-up

Last week I was invited to the 3MobileBuzz New Year meet-up, it was a really enjoyable evening and a great chance to meet many members of staff from 3UK, as well as many other reviewers/bloggers. There was a wide variety of staff from lots of departments, Customer Service, Network Team, Mobile Broadband, Mifi Development and Public Relations. What I thought was really good from 3UK was they were willing to come out and meet their customers and get some genuine feedback from 3 customers as well as Tech Reviewers and Bloggers. What ever questions were put forward, we were directed to the relevant person from 3UK to answer the question, from my experience there was not any dodging of awkward questions, they were extremely open, and as a three customer I think that this is very important.

I was most impressed with the customer service guys, I put forward my opinions on customer service issues that have been reports to us here at geekcomputers. They agreed with the points made and also then explained the steps they are putting in place to improve the customer service provided, including many on-line improvements.

10,000 3G Masts

3UK last week announced they had just activated their 10,000th mast, which is a fantastic achievement, this also supports the claim that they have the largest 3G network out of all the telecom providers, from what I can remember the closest to them has 7,500 masts.

Sony Vivaz

This was one of many handsets on display that will be coming to the 3 network, this is what I was really impressed with and I would be very interested when this phone is released.

If you click on the title above it was show some details of the phone from engadget. It is a very slick looking device, which records in full 720p HD. It was a very thin, light device but seemed a very easy to use.
